Description
The Field Museum intends to repatriate 2,064 cultural items classified as objects of cultural patrimony, affiliated with the Hopi Tribe of Arizona and the Zuni Tribe of New Mexico. These items, primarily ceramic vessels and various tools, were acquired in 1901 and are part of the Frank J. Wattron Collection. The repatriation is conducted under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and may occur on or after May 11, 2026. Requests for repatriation can be submitted by lineal descendants or culturally affiliated tribes or organizations.
