Description
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) is issuing a final rule to extend the deadline for applications to become an approved integrated circuit (IC) designer under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The triggering date for authorized IC designer status and the submission deadline for applications are extended by about eight months to December 31, 2026. This extension allows additional time for entities to apply and for BIS to process these applications, with applicants considered authorized IC designers for 180 days after the deadline.
