Description

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will hold a meeting of the Advisory Committee on the Medical Uses of Isotopes (ACMUI) on April 20-21, 2026. The meeting agenda includes reviewing recent medical events, discussing recommendations to support NRC implementation of the ADVANCE Act, licensing of alpha nuclides in radiopharmaceutical therapy, and exploring applications of AI and deep learning in NRC medical staff and ACMUI. Additional topics include best practices for report preparation, membership assessment for interventional radiologist inclusion, review of proposed rulemaking on physical protection of radioactive materials, and NRC medical radiation safety updates.
