Description

The Kansas State Historical Society (KSHS) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains from multiple counties and associated funerary objects, some of which may have been treated with substances. KSHS has determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. Repatriation may occur on or after May 11, 2026, and written requests for repatriation must be sent to KSHS.
