Description

Project is to refurbish air handling unit (AHU) at Building 1171. To accomplish this several AHU components will need to be repaired/replaced. Work schedule shall be clearly delineated in a Gantt chart schedule with the dates submitted to the Government for review and approval. Existing Unit: Trane, s/n U3A26715. Contractor shall remove and replace all fan bearings as well as fan shaft. There should be no vibration, and a static air pressure test shall be conducted to ensure manufacturer's specification cubic feet per minute are being produced at supply air trunk. Contractor shall startup system to ensure existing AHU with Variable Frequency Drive. Contractor shall test the airflow to verify flows match original design. Contractor shall make sure that the loop remains free of air bubbles when filling the coil with water. Contractor shall test and balance the airflow to match original design airflow to conditioned areas. Replace fan shaft with original manufacturer size shaft and install new supports to mitigate vibration of the shaft.
