The City of Buffalo Department of Public Works, Parks and Streets is seeking proposals for comprehensive veterinary services at the Buffalo Animal Shelter. - Government Buyer: - City of Buffalo Department of Public Works, Parks and Streets, Division of Streets and Sanitation - Scope of Services: - Daily veterinary visits (up to six days per week) - Examination and treatment of shelter animals, including new intakes and symptomatic cases - Certification of health status for rabies observation cases, including administration of rabies shots and tags - Emergency veterinary care available seven days a week - Elective surgical procedures (spay/neuter, hernia repair, dew toe removal) - Vaccinations (canine/feline distemper, parvo, bordatella, rabies, boosters) - Microchipping (with chips supplied by either the shelter or hospital) - Medication administration (antibiotics, dewormers, anti-inflammatories, and other medications) - Dental procedures, extractions, anesthesia, and other routine veterinary services - Facility inspections, euthanasia, public relations support, and record keeping - Products/Services Requested (examples): - Feline and canine vaccines (distemper, parvo, rabies, bordatella, calicivirus) - Spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats - Microchip implantation - Heartworm and combo tests - Medications (e.g., Antirobe, Convenia, Albon, Panacur, Rimadyl, Amoxicillin, Cephalexin, Clavamox, Baytril, Doxycycline, Metronidazole, Drontal, Pyrantel Pamoate) - Topical treatments (Advantage/Advantix, Otomax, Mitaban Dip, Neo Poly Bac Ointment, Tresaderm, Tritop) - Diagnostic and routine procedures (examinations, venipuncture, fecal floats, skin scrapes, anesthesia) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Offeror must be a professional service corporation licensed for veterinary medicine in New York State - Veterinary hospital must be located within the greater Buffalo area - Facility must be accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and compliant with OSHA standards - Demonstrable experience in providing veterinary services to animal shelters - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; opportunity is open to all qualified veterinary service providers meeting the requirements - Place of Performance: - Buffalo Animal Shelter, 380 Oak Street, Buffalo, NY 14203 - Contract Term: - Initial one-year term with up to four additional one-year extension options, subject to mutual agreement
