NOAA Sole Source Procurement of RIEGL Terrestrial Lidar Scanners and Services

NOAA's National Geodetic Survey (NGS) intends to procure RIEGL terrestrial lidar scanning systems and related services via a sole source contract to support high-accuracy shoreline mapping and geodetic applications. - Procuring RIEGL VZ-2000i and VZ-600i terrestrial lidar scanners - Includes scanner packages, software, accessories, and camera packages - Each scanner model is requested in a quantity of 1 or 2 units (see line items) - Additional items include: - GNSS RTK receivers, tripods, batteries, mounting adapters, and rugged laptops - Software licenses for data acquisition and processing - Training packages (3-day courses, with on-site upgrade options) - 12-month warranty for all equipment and parts (6-month for some battery packs) - Procurement is sole source to RIEGL USA, citing unique technical requirements for long-range, high-precision 3D terrestrial lidar data collection (up to 2 km) - Period of performance is July 24, 2026 to July 23, 2027 - Delivery and performance at NOAA's Silver Spring, MD federal facility - No competing OEMs are named, but other lidar manufacturers exist (see below) - Estimated contract value likely in the $500,000 to $1,200,000 range based on typical lidar system costs
