This opportunity seeks industry input for solutions to protect BEAR (Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources) water systems from freezing in extreme cold environments. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Air Force, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Combat Readiness office (AFLCMC/ROZEC) - Contracting office located at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia - Products/Services Requested: - Six (6) modular and scalable Freeze Protection Modules (FPMs) for BEAR water systems - FPM 1: Water Source Run (heating/insulation for 20,000-gallon bladder, hoses, valves, 400 GPM diesel pump shelter) - FPM 2: Water Production (heated/insulated shelter for ROWPUs, bladders, pumps, hose wraps) - FPM 3: Water Distribution Initial (550I) (freeze protection for potable water, wastewater, kitchen, laundry, hygiene) - FPM 4: Water Distribution Follow-On (550F) (similar to FPM 3, excludes some components) - FPM 5: Industrial Operations/Flightline Water Extension (freeze protection for bladders, pump, hoses) - FPM 6: Expansion Kit (additional heated/insulated hose/pipe wrap, bladder freeze protection) - Components include heated shelters, insulated hose wraps, pumps, bladders, and electrical interfaces compatible with government-furnished power equipment - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Must sustain water and wastewater operational flow in temperatures as low as -25°F (goal: -65°F) - System must support up to 3,300 personnel and integrate with hygiene, kitchen, and laundry subsystems - Solutions must be modular, scalable, and compatible with existing BEAR infrastructure - No specific OEMs, vendors, or part numbers are identified in the documents - The government is conducting market research and seeks information on commercial and COTS capabilities, concepts, or methodologies
Description
This Request For Information (RFI) is being utilized to identify sources capable of providing expertise, capabilities, and exprience to meet the requirement of a Water Freeze Protection System as outlined within section 3.3 of the draft Purchase Description attached. The Government seeks to provide the attached Purchase Description and prospective contractor's capability survey to identify and understand commercial and commercial-off-the-shelf capabilites, concepts, or methodologies to sustain water and wastewater operational flow in frigid temperatures (-25 degrees Fahrenheit and extended protection down to -65 degrees Fahrenheit). The contract type and acquisition strategy, to include pricing arrangement, quantities, timelines, et al., are considered to be determined and will be shaped in part by the findings found within responses to this notice as well as other sources of potential market solutions.
