Sprinkler Riser Tree Rebuild and Fire Alarm Integration for Western Development Museum

The Western Development Museum (WDM) is soliciting proposals for a comprehensive rebuild of the sprinkler riser tree at its Curatorial & Corporate Services Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. - Government Buyer: - Western Development Museum (WDM), Curatorial & Corporate Services Centre - Facilities and Safety Manager: Jody Gillis - OEMs and Vendors: - Edwards (specifically the Edwards IO1000 Fire Alarm System for device integration) - Products and Equipment Requested: - Removal and replacement of alarm-check valve assemblies: - One 6-inch assembly - Three 8-inch assemblies - Installation of a new 10-inch Double Check Valve Assembly (DCVA) - Replacement of 10-inch manifold piping - Installation of new wet sprinkler riser assemblies - Installation of waterflow switches, valve tamper (supervisory) switches, and low-pressure switches for each riser - Integration of all new devices with the existing Edwards IO1000 fire alarm system - Removal of the existing water-motor gong and associated piping - Hydrostatic and main drain testing, painting, labeling, and provision of as-built documentation - Services Requested: - Project management and coordination with WDM staff - Compliance with NFPA standards, current codes, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements - Safety management and adherence to WDM Safety Policies - Minimum one-year labor warranty and administration of manufacturer warranties - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All new devices must be integrated with the existing Edwards IO1000 fire alarm system - Contractors must provide as-built documentation and permanent labeling - Strict compliance with NFPA standards and local codes is mandatory - Safety and insurance requirements must be met - Project aims to restore system reliability and prepare for future construction

Description

The Western Development Museum (WDM) is seeking qualified fire protection contractors to submit proposals for the complete rebuild of the existing sprinkler riser tree at the Curatorial & Corporate Services Centre in Saskatoon. The project scope includes replacing alarm-check valve assemblies, supervisory and waterflow devices, trim piping, drains, gauges, installing a new 10-inch Double Check Valve Assembly, integrating new devices with the existing Edwards IO1000 fire alarm system, and removing the existing water-motor gong. The goal is to restore system reliability, fix leak and pressure issues, and provide a stable fire protection backbone ahead of planned construction work.
