Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive inspection and certification services for fire sprinkler systems, pumps, and related components across multiple campus buildings managed by the Department of Residence (DoR) and Memorial Union (MU). - Scope of Work: - Inspection and certification of wet and dry fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, jockey pumps, backflow preventers, check valves, post indicator valves, zone valves, main flow valves, dry systems, and associated piping. - Services include quarterly, annual, and 5-year internal inspections, as well as optional annual hose valve cycling and small repairs/maintenance as needed. - All inspections must comply with the latest NFPA 25 standards (2023 edition). - Certification and Staffing Requirements: - Technicians must hold NICET II (or higher) certification and be State of Iowa-approved testers for backflow preventers. - No subcontracting is permitted for inspection services. - Contractors must comply with OSHA safety standards and pass background checks. - Reporting and Documentation: - Detailed inspection reports and invoicing are required for all services performed. - Locations: - Services will be performed at a wide range of ISU campus facilities, including Friley Hall, Helser Hall, Birch/Welch/Roberts Halls, Linden Hall, Maple Hall, Eaton Hall, Buchanan Hall, Martin Hall, Oak/Elm, Frederiksen Court (29 apartment buildings), University Village Maintenance Facilities, Schilletter University Village Community Center, UDCC, Maple/Willow/Larch Commons, Barton Hall, Lyon Hall, Freeman Hall, Wallace Hall, Wilson Hall, Wallace/Wilson Fire Pump Building, Wallace/Wilson Commons, Geoffroy Hall, KS Commons, and the Memorial Union. - Contract Term: - Initial term is three years, with two optional one-year renewals. - Pricing is firm for the initial term, with possible escalation in renewal years. - Notable Requirements: - All work must be performed by the contractor's own certified staff (no subcontracting). - Optional annual hose valve maintenance may be awarded at ISU's discretion. - Contractors must be able to provide new repair/replacement parts as needed. - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; the opportunity is open to qualified service providers meeting the certification and accreditation requirements.
