The Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS) is seeking proposals for the delivery and installation of Automated Materials Handling (AMH) systems at two key locations in Hawaii. - Government Buyer: - Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS), Fiscal Services Office - Products and Services Requested: - Complete AMH systems for: - Logistics Support Section (LSS) on Oahu (central sorting facility) - Hilo Public Library on Hawaii Island - System components include: - Staff induction stations - Conveyors - Sorters - Modular sorting containers (bins/totes) compatible with delivery vehicles - All required hardware and software for integration with Horizon ILS (Sirsi) and RFID infrastructure - Services include: - Installation and coordination with facility construction - Staff training for administration, IT, and location staff - Comprehensive maintenance and technical support (warranty, preventative/corrective maintenance, software support, parts, labor) - Ongoing support with defined response times and 8am–8pm HST, 7 days a week availability - Unique or Notable Requirements: - System must process high daily volumes (approx. 7,000 items/day at Oahu, 3,300 items/day at Hilo) - Must support one-step check-in/manifest verification - Must be robust for Hawaii's tropical environment - Modular, expandable design; no proprietary containers required - Technical compatibility with Horizon ILS (Sirsi) and current RFID systems - Coordination with ongoing construction at Oahu facility - Vendors must be licensed in Hawaii and have experience with similar public library projects, preferably for Horizon (Sirsi) customers - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; opportunity is open to qualified providers of turnkey AMH solutions.
