PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE PUBLISHED. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Office of Director (OD) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed-price contract to Thermo Electron North America LLC 1400 Northpoint Pkwy Ste 50, West Palm Beach, FL 33407-1976,
The North American Classification System Code is 811210 - Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. The National Institute on Aging (NIA) within the NIH requires a maintenance service contract provided by the original equipment manufacturer to retain warranty and service continuity. The maintenance service contract is for the mass spectrometers and related components. Based on market research, and Government end-users, Thermo Electron North America LLC is the only factory trained and authorized service group in the United States. Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition available upon request. The Government intends to negotiate with only one (1) source under the authority of FAR 6.103-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and/or capabilities statement to this requirement by contacting Contract Specialist, Elaine Estrella by email at elaine.estrella@nih.gov no later than 05:00 PM EST on 04/14/2026 at 5:00pm EST. Responses sent utilizing other means will not be considered. Information received will be used solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is at the discretion of the Government. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided. Vendors shall be registered in the System for Awards Management (SAM.gov) to receive government contracts. The NIH OD uses a financial system that has a direct interface with SAM.
