Description
This final rule rescinds regulations under the Magnuson-Stevens Act that previously restricted commercial fishing within the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument. The action aligns U.S. fishing regulations with the February 6, 2026 Presidential Proclamation that removed the prohibition on commercial fishing in this area. The rule provides clarity to the fishing industry that commercial fishing is now permitted within the Monument boundaries, effective April 3, 2026.
