Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is initiating a review of the management plan for the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary to evaluate progress toward sanctuary goals and revise the plan as needed under the National Marine Sanctuaries Act. NOAA seeks information from individuals, organizations, Tribes, and government agencies on issues to address in the revision process. The review includes public meetings for information sharing and oral comments, with written comments accepted until May 21, 2026. The sanctuary encompasses 17 banks off Texas and Louisiana, providing critical marine habitats and ecosystem services.
