Description
This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of Other than Small Businesses and Small Businesses, including VetCert-certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) prospective vendors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334516 and its small business size standard of 1,000 employees.
The Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines, Illinois, has the requirement for a brand name or equal multitude microplate reader for research laboratory use. The Government is requesting that Other Than Small Businesses and Small Businesses, including VetCert-certified VOSB or SDVOSB sources respond if it can meet the description and Salient Characteristics below on a brand name or equal basis (Thermo Scientific Varioskan ALF Multitude Microplate reader):

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
Must have multimode detection capability including absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence. Must have a broad wavelength range spanning UV, visible, and near IR, suitable for common microplate assays. Must support standard SBS microplate formats from 6 well to at least 384 well plates. Must provide multiple read modes including endpoint, kinetic, and spectral scanning. Must have user programmable methods and integrated data analysis tools. Must offer temperature control functionality for assays requiring thermal stability. Must include adjustable shaking or mixing capability suitable for microplate assays. Must use high sensitivity detectors capable of quantifying low signal outputs such as luminescence. Must export data in standard formats including CSV or spreadsheet compatible files.
Interested Other Than Small Businesses and Small Businesses including VetCert-certified VOSBs and SDVOSBs are required to submit an e-mail delineating:
Qualifications, capabilities, and experience for providing this product; Business size/Socioeconomic status; Manufacture location; If the product is on the Federal Supply Schedule or the Open Market; and Memo or correspondence which authorizes distributor to distribute the manufacturer s products (if applicable). This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation currently exists. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. VOSBs and SDVOSBs must be registered and verified in VetCert for set-aside consideration.
