The U.S. Department of Energy's Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) is seeking qualified subcontractors to fabricate, deliver, and install a range of precast concrete shield blocks and associated stainless steel components for the PIP-II project in Batavia, Illinois. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) - Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) - Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC Procurement Department - Products and Quantities: - Precast concrete absorber shield blocks (Front, Upstream, Bottom, Top): 4 units total - Precast concrete BTL shield blocks (Types A, C, D, E, H, K, L): 58 units total - Type A: 14 units - Type C: 3 units - Type D: 7 units - Type E: 4 units - Type H: 11 units - Type K: 10 units - Type L: 9 units - Stainless steel absorber concrete block tubes and weldments (various part numbers): 18+ items, typically 1-2 units each - Reinforcing bars, support chairs, and formwork for shield blocks - Technical and Quality Requirements: - Precast concrete must meet ASTM and ACI standards with a minimum compressive strength of 5000 psi - Plant must be PCI certified; at least five years of experience in precast concrete required - Shop drawings, certifications, and photographic documentation of rebar/embeds required - Fermilab inspection prior to casting; rejected blocks must be replaced at no additional cost - Stainless steel tubes specified as 3" x 3" x .125" wall or 2.375" OD x .154" wall - Delivery and Performance: - Delivery and offloading at Fermilab, Batavia, IL, with 48-hour notice and coordination - Submittals due within 14 days of contract; delivery completion within 70 days; project closeout within 84 days - Unique/Notable Requirements: - No government-furnished materials provided - All labor, materials, supervision, and transportation are contractor's responsibility - Compliance with detailed engineering drawings and specifications is mandatory - Location: - All deliveries and work to be performed at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Kirk Rd. & Pine St., Batavia, IL 60510
