Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Antcom GPS/Passive Iridium Antenna (P/N P/N: 1.5GIR1516RR-AP-XSS-1) for the National Data Buoy Center at Stennis Space Center, MS.

This is a Brand Name Requirement.  Vendors must be a verified reseller of Antcom.

Brand Name Justification:

Antcom brand name is essential to the requirement and market research indicates similar products do not meet or cannot be modified to meet agency needs. The NDBC uses the Antcom model 1.5GIR1516RR-AP-XSS-1 dual antenna in its coastal weather buoys, coastal land-based weather stations, auxiliary payloads, and in the Tropical Atmosphere Ocean (TAO) buoys to reduce fabrication costs and reduce the number of spare antenna required to be kept in inventory. These weather systems have been designed around this specification, from the power of the antenna, the grounding planes, the mating cable connections and the physical mounting. Modifications to these weather systems to accommodate additional antenna models would introduce significant additional cost and risk to the NDBC mission.

The Government intends to make an award to the responsive responsible quoter providing the best value in accordance with FAR 12.203(c)(2).  DOC, Eastern Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). No award can be made to a company not registered in SAM. Contractors active in SAM have a unique entity identifier (UEI) that is used to do business with the federal government. The Government has moved to a free new, non-proprietary identifier that will have to be requested in, and assigned by, the System for Award Management (SAM.gov). You can register and access the site by going to www.sam.gov.
