Sarpy County Public Works Shop Gretna Maintenance Lot Expansion – Concrete, Stormwater, and Site Improvements

Sarpy County Public Works Department is seeking a contractor for the expansion and upgrade of the maintenance lot at its Public Works Shop in Gretna, Nebraska. - Project Overview: - Replacement of an existing gravel parking lot with a new reinforced concrete lot (approx. 28,000 sq ft) - Work includes excavation, grading, sub-base preparation, concrete placement and finishing, and joining to existing infrastructure - The lot must support large trucks and construction equipment and remain operational during construction - Key Products and Construction Tasks: - Mobilization, subgrade preparation, and excavation (up to 3741 CY/SY) - Installation of 12" reinforced concrete pavement (up to 3741 SY) - Stormwater management infrastructure: - 18" and 24" reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) storm pipes (245 LF and 67 LF) - Curb inlet Type I, 24" concrete flared end section - Hydrodynamic separator (First Defense Model FD-4HC by Hydro International or approved equal) - Detention pond outlet structure - Erosion and drainage control: - Silt fencing (229 LF), erosion control blanket (1029 SY), wattle (20 LF), scourstop mat (22 SY) - Seeding, Type B - Segmental retaining wall (478 SF), concrete header (149 LF) - Removal of existing rock surfacing (3734 SY) and concrete pavement (500 SY) - Parking lot striping (270 LF) - Construction of 4-foot chain link fence (72 LF) - Equipment Rentals: - Hourly rental of dump truck, loader, and skid loader (10 hours each) - Notable Requirements: - Compliance with City of Omaha Standard Specifications - Installation of a specific hydrodynamic separator (First Defense Model FD-4HC by Hydro International) or approved equal - Coordination with utility companies and adherence to all local codes - Two-year guarantee period for workmanship and materials after acceptance - Contractors must coordinate schedule with Sarpy County and maintain continuous work once started - Place of Performance: - Sarpy County Public Works Shop, 21804 R&R Road, Gretna, NE 68028 - Contracting office at Sarpy County Courthouse, 1210 Golden Gate Drive, Suite 1220, Papillion, NE 68046

Description

Sarpy County is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors to replace the existing gravel parking lot at the Public Works Shop in Gretna, Nebraska with a new reinforced concrete parking lot. The project scope includes excavation, grading, removal of existing materials, sub-base preparation, form work, saw cutting, reinforcement, concrete placement and finishing, connection to existing infrastructure, water runoff control, utility locates, and striping. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled to allow contractors to inspect the site and discuss project details. Bids must be submitted by April 2, 2026, and the project will be awarded by the Sarpy County Board of Commissioners.
