Description
This final rule by the Social Security Administration makes limited nomenclature changes to the Code of Federal Regulations to conform with Executive Order 14168. Specifically, it replaces the term "gender" with "sex" in the regulatory text of the Listing of Impairments used to evaluate disability claims under titles II and XVI of the Social Security Act. The amendments are technical and do not change any substantive policies or procedures. The rule is effective May 4, 2026.
