Description
The Department of Education is proposing a reinstatement without change of a previously approved information collection request related to the Debt Collection Improvement Act (DCIA) and data requirements for guaranty agencies. This collection supports reporting to the U.S. Department of the Treasury on the status and condition of non-tax debt portfolios. Guaranty agencies are required to submit data on aged debt, eligibility for referral to the Treasury Offset Program, and compliance with Form 1099 C reporting. The Department invites public comments on this proposal by May 1, 2026.
