The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Mark Twain National Forest has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains and objects from multiple sites in Missouri, with a cultural affiliation determined to be with The Osage Nation. Repatriation of these items may occur on or after May 4, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be submitted to the Forest Supervisor at the Mark Twain National Forest.
