Description

The Wilson Museum intends to repatriate 17 unassociated funerary cultural items, including stone tools, worked stones, shells, mica, beads, and pottery sherds collected from the Etowah Site in Cartersville, Georgia. These items are culturally affiliated with The Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Repatriation may occur on or after May 4, 2026, and requests for repatriation can be submitted by lineal descendants or affiliated Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations.
