Description
Auburn University at Montgomery has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains of 49 Native American individuals and over 10,000 associated funerary objects from multiple archaeological sites in Montgomery County, Alabama. The notice establishes cultural affiliation with several Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations and invites requests for repatriation of these remains and objects starting May 4, 2026.
