The City of Spokane Water & Hydroelectric Services Department is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide on-call structural and mechanical engineering services for the Upriver Dam, a FERC-licensed hydroelectric facility. - Scope of Work: - Civil, structural, and mechanical engineering design and analysis for dam components including spillways, gates, bulkheads, penstocks, draft tubes, steel and reinforced concrete structures, CMU and brick buildings, timber structures, and miscellaneous items (e.g., signal pole bases, anchors) - Mechanical engineering tasks such as turbine repairs/upgrades, bearing types, machine alignment, cranes and hoists upgrades, gate mechanisms, generator and bearing cooling systems, governor upgrades, HVAC modifications, life safety upgrades, and CFD modeling - Coordination with FERC during design and construction phases - Preparation of required documentation (CPFMA, QCIP, TCEAP) - Assistance during bid and construction phases - Material testing including NDT, concrete coring, lead/asbestos testing, etc. - Minimum Qualifications: - At least 10 years of experience in dam design for each discipline - Licensed to do business in Washington State - Contract Details: - Initial period of two years, renewable for one additional year - Individual project fees range from $5,000 to $50,000 - Total contract value not to exceed $200,000 - Notable Vendors Expressing Interest: - AHBL, Brown and Caldwell, Carollo Engineers, Coffman Engineers, DOWL, HDR, J-U-B Engineers, McMillen, Mesa Associates, Natural Systems Design, Northwest Hydraulic Consultants, Osborn Consulting, Sazan Group, Schnabel Engineering, TD&H Engineering, Watershed Science and Engineering, among others - Place of Performance: - Upriver Dam, City of Spokane, Washington
