Description
The general purpose of this Subcontract is the acquisition of an air handling unit constructed of shipping splits, which is required during the installation of cryostat membrane, insulation, and detector components. The system will feed conditioned air to the cryostat and circulate air using large feedthroughs in the roof of the cryostat. The air handling equipment will connect to the cryostat via non-conductive duct material to custom duct adapters as provided by FFDG. The air handling equipment shall be electrically connected in conduit to the designated power panel, which is provided by FFDG.
The scope encompasses an air handling system, specifying the total air flow into the cryostats. This includes ducting (flexible or fixed) connecting the air handling equipment to the cryostat input ports. The vendor will procure all materials, fabricate, assemble, test, package, deliver, and install the completed product for the Long Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), Far Detector and Cryogenics (FDC) subproject, located at the 4850 level underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, SD.
