The US Coast Guard is seeking commercially available All-Weather Navigational Buoys for use by Aids to Navigation units in the Great Lakes and other extreme cold weather areas. - Government Buyer: - United States Coast Guard, Waterway Operations Product Line (WOPL) - Contracting Office: 300 East Main Street, Suite 965, Norfolk, VA - Products/Services Requested: - All-Weather Navigational Buoys - Must be radar reflective, lighted, and designed for extreme cold weather - Lifespan of 35 years or greater - Impact-resistant hull and unsinkable core - Ice survivability required - Buoy length not to exceed 15 feet; weight not to exceed 3,000 lbs (including batteries and hardware) - Self-contained lantern, three mooring pad eyes, opposing double lifting pad eyes - Capable of maintaining signal in 4+ knot current - Visual range of at least 1.4 nautical miles; radar cross section greater than 50m - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Buoys must eliminate the need for seasonal changes in extreme cold weather - Designed for long-term durability and survivability in ice conditions - Anticipated contract structure: Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) with a base year plus four option years
