The United States Coast Guard Academy is seeking sources for the supply of ceremonial military swords and scabbards to support officer uniform requirements. - Government Buyer: - United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) Clothing Locker, under the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, HQ Contract Operations (CG-912) - Products/Services Requested: - Ceremonial military swords with blades made of either high carbon tool steel (Class 1) or stainless steel (Class 2) - Blade lengths: 26, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33 inches - Minimum carbon content for tool steel: 0.70%; stainless steel must have at least 12% chromium - Polished finish and hardened/tempered as specified - Scabbards constructed of fiberglass or polyurethane tubes (0.040 to 0.065 inch thick), or sheet metal/seamless steel tubing covered with leather - Sword components include: die struck or cast bronze pommel (24k gold plated, eagle and thirteen stars), bronze grip socket (leaf pattern), U-shaped guard (with "USCG"), grip (bleached sharkskin or molded plastic with gold wire bands), half basket hilt guard, scabbard bands/mounts/rings (gold plated bronze), engraved top/middle bands and shoe mount (with dolphin design), and cotton flannelette sword case - Scabbard internal support: balsa wood or sulphur-free fiberboard - Quantities: - Supplier must provide a minimum of 1,000 and a maximum of 5,000 swords over a five-year period - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All swords and scabbards must meet detailed USCG design, material, and quality specifications - No specific OEMs or brands are named; open to manufacturers or resellers capable of meeting requirements - Vendors must provide company and business size information - Full technical specifications are provided in the attached Product Description document

Description

The United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) Clothing Locker is currentlty conducting market research to identify potential sources that can provide a continueous supply of  military swords and scabbards for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Clothing Locker, supporting inventory needs for initial uniform issuance to the Corps of Cadets, Officer Candidate Students, Direct Commissioned Officers, CGA Scholars, and Reserve Officer Candidates. Sword blades are made of high carbon tool steel or stainless steel and manufactured in the following lengths (inches) 26, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33. The sword scabbard shall be made of fiberglass or polyurethane tubes 0.040 to 0.065 inch thick.

Must be able to supply a minium of 1,000 swords and a maxium of 5,000 swords over a five year period. Estimated Period of Performance: 9/15/2026 - 9/14/2031
