HVAC System Replacement for BPM Rooms at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory

The Department of Energy, through the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, is seeking a subcontractor for HVAC system removal and replacement in the Beam Position Monitor (BPM) Rooms of Buildings 116 and 132 at SLAC in Menlo Park, California. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) - SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (operated by Stanford University for DOE) - Scope of Work: - Complete removal and replacement of existing HVAC systems in BPM Rooms of Buildings 116 and 132 - Contractor must provide all labor, oversight, tools, materials, equipment, and services - Work must comply with SLAC, DOE, and ES&H (Environment, Safety & Health) standards, as well as approved BIO documents - Performance Requirements: - Work is divided into two phases: - Phase 1: Main construction during SSRL Summer 2026 shutdown (July–September) - Phase 2: Any remaining work to be completed during Summer 2027 shutdown (July–September) - HVAC system must be operational by the end of the 2026 shutdown period - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs, brands, or part numbers are specified in the solicitation - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All work must be performed at a federal research facility (SLAC) - Strict adherence to DOE and SLAC safety and operational standards is required - Phased construction schedule to align with facility shutdown periods

Description

The subcontractor must provide all labor, oversight, tools, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the work safely and in compliance with approved BIO documents as well as SLAC, DOE, and ES&H standards. The subcontractor shall remove and replace, in its entirety, the HVAC systems servicing the Beam Position Monitor (BPM) Rooms in Buildings 116 and 132. All construction activities must be performed primarily during SSRL’s Summer 2026 shutdown, scheduled from July 21, 2026 through October 1, 2026, with the HVAC system operational no later than September 19, 2026. If equipment lead times prevent full completion by this date, the project shall be phased to complete as much work as possible during the Summer 2026 shutdown, with any remaining work performed during the Summer 2027 shutdown.
