Description
The Ocean Research Advisory Panel (ORAP) provides independent recommendations to the Federal Government on ocean policy matters. Established by Congress, the panel consists of 10 to 18 members appointed by the Ocean Policy Committee Co-Chairs, including representatives from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, as well as individuals from ocean industries, government, academia, and experts in marine science, technology, and policy. Members serve terms of up to three years, renewable once, and are appointed as Representative members. Nominations are solicited for membership on this advisory panel.
