The Department of Energy's Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office has received an application from Argent LNG, LLC requesting long-term authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) equivalent to approximately 1,293.75 billion cubic feet per year. The LNG export terminal is proposed to be located at Port Fourchon in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. The authorization sought covers exports to non-free trade agreement nations under the Natural Gas Act. Public comments and protests are invited and must be submitted by May 26, 2026.
