Description

The Center for Natural Lands Management intends to repatriate approximately 55 cultural items, including unassociated funerary objects, sacred objects, and objects of cultural patrimony, that have cultural affiliation with Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. These items were found in Riverside County, California, and include ceramics, lithics, bone, groundstone, beads, shells, and the contents of a Shaman's pipe. The repatriation is conducted under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and may occur on or after April 27, 2026. Requests for repatriation can be submitted by lineal descendants or culturally affiliated tribes or organizations.
