The City of New York Department of Design and Construction (DDC) is seeking contractors to provide comprehensive land and marine geotechnical boring services to support Department of Transportation (DOT) projects across New York City. - Government Buyer: - City of New York, Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Division of Safety & Site Support - Scope of Work: - Furnish all labor, drilling rigs (minimum four available at all times), vacuum excavators, and related equipment - Perform subsurface soil, rock, and groundwater sampling for DOT projects citywide - Services include: - Utility pre-clearance (vacuum excavator/soft digging) - Mud-rotary drilling (land and marine, up to 102 feet) - Split spoon and undisturbed soil sampling - Diamond drill rock coring - Installation and development of groundwater observation wells - Test pit excavation, permeability/percolation/infiltration testing - Pavement and highway coring - Ground penetrating radar (GPR) for utility location - Hazardous and non-hazardous soil/water testing, transport, and disposal - Traffic control (certified flaggers, crash attenuator trucks, sign boards) - Mobilization/demobilization of rigs and barges - Grouting boreholes and restoration work - MTA railroad protective liability insurance and coordination for work near MTA/NYCT structures - Notable Requirements: - Compliance with NYC safety codes, prevailing wage schedules, and environmental regulations - Mandatory Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) participation goals - Community Hiring Rider: workforce goals for hiring low-income and economically disadvantaged individuals - Subcontracting limited to 10% of contract value - Retainage set at 5% - Payment and performance bonds may be required for work orders of $1,000,000 or more - No specific OEMs or named vendors; open to qualified contractors with relevant experience and equipment - Place of Performance: - Citywide, New York City (all boroughs) - Contracting office: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101
