The City of Redwood City is soliciting proposals for engineering consulting services to replace the Carson Potable Water Pump Station. - Government Buyer: - City of Redwood City, Engineering & Transportation Department - Project Scope: - Full design, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for replacing the existing potable water pump station - Demolition and replacement of the pump house building, pumps, and associated equipment - Replacement of approximately 1,000 linear feet of 10-inch ductile iron pipe with a new 12-inch pumping line (pipe material alternatives to be evaluated) - Installation of new vertical multi-stage centrifugal pumps with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) - New masonry pump house with emergency generator and exterior fuel filling system - Upgraded electrical systems, including new motor control center (MCC), switchgear, automatic transfer switch (ATS), portable generator receptacle, AC unit, exhaust fans, surveillance cameras, and exterior lighting - SCADA, instrumentation, and controls: PLC programming, integration, instrumentation, network router, radio communications, and fiber optic wiring - Site improvements: driveway, fencing, slope stabilization, erosion control, tree removal/pruning, concrete walk, and landscape restoration - Services Required: - Hydraulic and structural analysis, electrical and SCADA design, permitting, bid support, construction observation, submittal reviews, testing, and as-built drawings - Support during bidding and construction phases, including technical Q&A and meetings - Notable Requirements: - Consultant must demonstrate expertise in hydraulic analysis, SCADA integration, electrical systems, and civil/structural design - Consultant to present pipe material alternatives for the new pumping line - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - Place of Performance: - 3585 Farm Hill Boulevard, Redwood City
