This is your opportunity to learn about this significant infrastructure project and how your company can be a part of it. Project Overview:
The Brandon Road Interbasin Project is a critical control point in preventing Invasive Species, including Invasive Carp fish, from becoming established in the Great Lakes. This project will construct a series of deterrent measures in the lock chamber and approach channel. Once complete, a series of electric, hydroacoustic, and bubble deterrents will be operational while facilitating river navigation traffic. The project is broken into 3 construction increments (shown below). This presentation will focus on Increment II – Flushing Lock and Right Descending Bank Construction Contract. The purpose of this engagement is to provide contractors awareness of the upcoming contract and also to solicit feedback during this presentation regarding ways to improve the design to allow for more efficient and cost-effective construction.
The project is designed in 3 construction increments, as follows:
Increment I - Leading Edge
Automated Barge Clearing (ABC) Deterrent Bubble Curtain Deterrent Acoustic Deterrent (Leading Edge) Leading Edge Support Facilities Upstream Boat Ramp Channel Rock Excavation
Increment II – Flushing Lock and Right Descending Bank
Flushing Lock (FL) Right Descending Bank (RDB) Wall Channel Rock Excavation
Increment III - Engineered Channel
Electric Deterrent Acoustic Deterrent (Eng Channel) Support Facilities Building Engineered Channel Floor & Walls Downstream Boat Ramp
Industry Day Highlights:
Attend the presentation with detailed information about the project scope, timeline, and specific requirements for each phase. Get your questions answered by USACE representatives and project engineers during Q&A. Provide feedback on how to improve design to allow for more efficient and cost-effective construction.
