The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Glenn Research Center (GRC) is conducting market research to identify potential sources (Small Businesses and Other-than-Small Businesses) capable of providing a rental mobile boiler system and associated equipment that meets or exceeds the specifications listed below. This requirement supports ongoing facility operational needs.

Project Name, Location and Description: Industrial Rental Equipment/Mobile Boiler

Rental Mobile Boiler

Quantity: One unit

Steam Pressure: Minimum 550 psig saturated

Steam Flow Output Capacity: Minimum 75,000 pounds per hour (PPH)

Fuel Type: Natural gas

Emissions: Low NOx (<42 ppm)

Controls:

Complete local control required Remote operation required

Valving:

Full suite of isolation and pressure relief valves compliant with applicable boiler codes Capable of isolating steam output at maximum operating pressure

Shipping: Shipping costs included

Startup: Startup service available upon equipment delivery

Rental Mobile Deaerator

Quantity: One unit

Output Capacity: Minimum 165,000 PPH

Complete local control required Remote operation desirable

Rental Period of Performance: The intent is to award a Base plus four Option years of rental. Rental start date is expected to be on or about June 1, 2026. 

Rental Place of Performance: NASA GRC is located in Cleveland, Ohio. The boiler location will be at GRC’s Armstrong Test Facility (ATF) located in Sandusky, Ohio.

Submission Details: All interested, capable, qualified firms, under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 333414, are encouraged to reply to this notice request. Interested vendors shall submit information regarding the boilers and the respective rental terms and conditions; if a vendor-provided operator is an option; and response time if rental/services are required. Total response shall not exceed five pages in length.

Please include the following information in your response:

Company Information: Company name, address, and point of contact with phone number and email address; Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI); Small business size standard

Availability of equipment meeting specifications Estimated delivery timelines Prior experience providing similar mobile boiler rental systems

The Government intends to review all responses submitted by Industry. This data will not be shared outside the Government and may be used to further refine requirements. Please do not submit proprietary information. NASA will not affirmatively release any information received in response to this notice to the public but may use information received in developing the best approach for a contract strategy, and therefore such information may be recognizable to the interested party who submitted it. Any information submitted in response to this notice that is marked as “Confidential Commercial or Financial Information” will be considered as voluntarily submitted in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act.

NASA is under no obligation to issue a solicitation or to award any contract on the basis of this notice. NASA will not pay for any information solicited under this notice.
