NOAA is seeking public input to improve space weather forecasting and preparedness through a User Needs Survey: - Government Buyer: - Department of Commerce - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - Space Weather Advisory Group - Purpose: - Collect feedback from sectors such as aviation, emergency management, satellite navigation, human space flight, power grid, research, and space situational awareness - Identify advances needed in research, observations, forecasting, prediction, and modeling for space weather - Inform the National Science and Technology Council's SWORM Subcommittee - Products/Services Requested: - Voluntary participation in a survey (no products or OEMs involved) - Unique Requirements: - Open to individuals, businesses, not-for-profit institutions, and government entities - Focused on gathering information, not procuring goods or services - Participation is voluntary and non-contractual

The Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to submit a User Needs Survey conducted by the Space Weather Advisory Group to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and approval. This survey aims to gather input from various sectors including aviation, emergency management, and power grid, among others, to assess and improve space weather products and forecasting capabilities. The data collected will help identify research and technological advancements needed to enhance space weather preparedness and mitigation efforts. Public comments are invited to help assess the impact and minimize reporting burden.
