Edgecombe County Utilities Department is seeking bids for comprehensive grass cutting and grounds maintenance services at multiple utility facilities across the county. - Government Buyer: - Edgecombe County Utilities Department, led by Paul Moseley, Utilities Director - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or vendors are named; open to qualified grounds maintenance contractors - Products/Services Requested: - Grass cutting and grounds maintenance services at over 30 utility sites, including water towers, booster stations, lift stations, well sites, right-of-ways, and a mobile home park - Services include mowing, litter removal, edging, trimming, shrub and tree trimming, blowing, weed control, and cleanup - Most sites require 16 service visits annually; right-of-ways and the mobile home park require 4 visits annually - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Contractors must provide all equipment, tools, materials, labor, transportation, and supervision - All mowing equipment must meet OSHA safety standards and be equipped with safety shields or mulching decks - Mandatory pre-bid meeting attendance, submission of references, proof of licenses and insurance, and compliance with safety and affirmative action standards - No electronic bids permitted; all bids must be submitted per solicitation instructions - Locations: - Services to be performed at specified Edgecombe County Utilities Department facilities in Tarboro, Rocky Mount, Speed, and Princeville, NC, including detailed addresses for each site
Description
Edgecombe County is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide grass cutting services for all Utilities Department facilities. The contract term is 12 months starting July 1, 2026, with a possible extension of up to two additional years. The scope includes mowing, edging, trimming, shrub and tree maintenance, weed control, and cleanup across multiple sites. Contractors must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting and submit bids by April 20, 2026, with all questions due by April 15, 2026.
