The City of Iqaluit is seeking qualified contractors for the Critical Pipelines Renewals project in the lower Iqaluit area. - Government Buyer: - City of Iqaluit Department of Public Works and Engineering - Scope of Work: - Replacement of existing ductile iron water infrastructure with insulated HDPE watermain and sanitary sewer - Installation of approximately 750m of 250mm diameter insulated HDPE DR9 watermain - Installation of approximately 75m of 500mm diameter insulated HDPE DR9 sanitary sewer main - Supply and installation of 13 new access vaults - Water and sanitary service connections (5 water, 1 sanitary) - Installation of 36 culverts (600mm diameter), 102 bollards, and construction of 85m of ditching and swales - Road reinstatement with 455m of cold patch asphalt - Rock excavation/disposal, granular material supply, and removal/disposal of contaminated soils - Unique Requirements: - Work must be performed in Arctic and permafrost conditions - Strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards - Involvement of Inuit and local labor is required - Detailed schedules, quality control plans, and compliance with all permits and inspections - Liquidated damages of $1,000 per day for late completion - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; HDPE piping and related materials are specified by type and size - Submission: - Bids must be submitted electronically via MERX Canadian Public Tenders
