The Township of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is seeking qualified attorneys to provide Public Defender and Substitute/Conflict Public Defender services for the 2026 calendar year. - Government Buyer: - Township of Cherry Hill, managed by the Township Clerk's office at the Municipal Building, 820 Mercer Street, Cherry Hill, NJ - Services Requested: - Public Defender Services: Representation of indigent defendants in Cherry Hill Municipal Court, required to appear one day per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday mornings) and additional sessions as needed - Substitute/Conflict Public Defender Services: Representation when the Public Defender is unavailable or has a conflict, with compensation per session or per defendant - Compensation: - Public Defender: $600 per session - Substitute/Conflict Public Defender: $600 per full session or $150 per defendant per session - Monthly billing with detailed, itemized invoices required - Unique Requirements: - Attorneys must be licensed in New Jersey and have significant municipal court experience - Compliance with New Jersey statutes N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq., and N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5 et seq. - Proposals must include one original with signatures, one exact copy, and an electronic copy on a flash drive - Selection is through a fair and open process considering price and other factors - Period of Performance: - Contract term is for the 2026 calendar year - Places of Performance: - Cherry Hill Township Municipal Court - Contracting office at Municipal Building, 820 Mercer Street, Cherry Hill, NJ
