Description
This final rule by the Environmental Protection Agency establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of methyl end-capped polydimethylsiloxane (dimethylpolysiloxane) when used as an inert ingredient in pesticide formulations. The regulation eliminates the need to set a maximum permissible residue level for this chemical on food or feed commodities when used according to the exemption. The rule is effective March 25, 2026, and objections or requests for hearings must be submitted by May 26, 2026. The exemption is based on the chemical's classification as a low-risk polymer with no anticipated mammalian toxicity from aggregate exposure.
