Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, under the Department of Energy, is seeking vendors to supply high-purity niobium and niobium-titanium (Nb55Ti) metal parts for use in superconducting radio frequency (SRF) cavities for particle accelerator projects. - Government Buyer: - Department of Energy (DOE) - Fermilab (Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory) - Illinois Accelerator Research Center (IARC) - Applied Physics & Superconducting Technology Division, SRF Measurements & Research Department - Products/Services Requested: - High RRR (Residual Resistivity Ratio >300) niobium sheets in various sizes and thicknesses (e.g., 560mm x 560mm x 4.0mm, 420mm x 420mm x 4.0mm, 240mm x 125mm x 2.5mm) - RRR300 niobium forged rings (e.g., 138mm OD x 114mm ID x 27mm, 235mm OD x 129mm ID x 20mm) - RRR300 niobium rods (20mm x 150mm) - Nb55Ti disks in multiple dimensions (e.g., 145mm x 32mm, 202mm x 26mm) - Optional items include additional niobium sheets and Nb55Ti disks in specified sizes - Quantities: - 22 units of main niobium sheets (560mm x 560mm x 4.0mm) - 22 units each of optional niobium sheets (420mm x 420mm x 4.0mm and 2.0mm) - 4 units each of forged rings and disks in various sizes - 1 niobium rod (20mm x 150mm) - Unique or Notable Requirements: - All materials must meet Fermilab specification ED0371037 Rev E and ASTM B393 Type 5 - Vendors must quote all items, including options, and provide material testing and documentation - Prior experience or Fermilab validation is required for vendors - Strict quality assurance, packaging, and inspection protocols apply - Materials are intended for the PIP-II Project and SRF cavity fabrication - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or manufacturers are named; procurement is open to qualified suppliers of high-purity niobium and Nb55Ti materials - Place of Performance/Delivery: - Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Batavia, Illinois - Illinois Accelerator Research Center (IARC) at Fermilab
