The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is seeking a contractor for comprehensive water system improvements at the Range Sheep Production Efficiency Research Unit in Dubois, Idaho. - Government Buyer: - United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), AFM APD, Range Sheep Production Efficiency Research Unit - Project Scope: - Install a new potable water well and decommission the existing well - Replace water system controls and treatment system - Install well pump (Grundfos 85S200-18 or equal) and pitless unit (Baker Standard Industrial or equal) - Install new 4" C900 PVC water lines (125 LF and 7 LF), valves, bends, tees, thrust blocks, and wall penetration - Upgrade well house (Building 71) piping and instrumentation (mag meter, butterfly valve, swing check valve, pressure gauge, air release, chlorination system) - Install telemetry receiver (Edwards 94PLEDMR120A or equal) and PLC controls - Provide chlorination system (30-gal tank, Stenner 45MP2 peristaltic pump or equal, tubing, containment pallet, heated enclosure) - Install flushing hydrant (Mainguard 77 Kupferle or equal) - Perform all required testing, disinfection, and bacteriological testing - Electrical work for new well and controls, including pump controller, starter, and telemetry panels - OEMs and Key Equipment: - Grundfos (well pump) - Baker (pitless unit) - Kupferle (flushing hydrant) - Edwards (telemetry receiver) - Badger Meter (magnetic flow meter) - Stenner (chemical feed pump) - Hubbell (chlorination system enclosure) - Titan (swing check valve) - Valmatic (air release valve) - Notable Requirements: - All well drilling must be performed by an Idaho-licensed water well driller/contractor - Temporary potable water must be provided if water outages exceed 24 hours - Submittals required for all major components and disinfection plans - Option line item for additional well depth, priced per foot - 1-year defect correction period post-acceptance - Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 237110 - Period of Performance: - Work must commence within 10 days of notice to proceed and be completed within 180 days - Estimated performance window: May to November (6 months) - Place of Performance: - USDA ARS Range Sheep Production Efficiency Research Unit, 19 Office Loop, Dubois, Idaho 83423 (Building 71/Well House)
