The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking sources for the supply and installation of fiber optic cable infrastructure at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. - Government Buyer: - Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 16 - Place of performance: Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, Houston, TX - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; the procurement is open to qualified suppliers of fiber optic cable and installation services. - Products/Services Requested: - Supply and installation of multiple fiber optic cable runs (single-mode and multi-mode, 12 strand, direct burial, armor jacketed) - Approx. 2100–2300 feet per run - Includes both single-mode and OM4 multi-mode cables - Hardware and accessories: - Fan-out kits, LC DUP adapter panels, fiber connectors, splice connectors - 12 port patch panels (rack mount), wall mount racks and enclosures - Cable supports (Caddy Cable Supports, 2"), mule tape pull string, Velcro, miscellaneous hardware - Labor and services: - Underground installation (including setup of breathing oxygen containment systems) - Fiber technician terminations, labeling, and testing - All labor, transportation, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and repair - Quantities: - Four main fiber runs (three single-mode, one multi-mode), each approx. 2100–2300 ft - Hardware quantities include: 2–6 fan-out kits, 2–6 adapter panels, 2–2 patch panels, 50–72 cable supports, 50 multi-mode and 6 single-mode fiber connectors, 1–2 wall mount racks/enclosures, and other accessories - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Completion required within 60 days after receipt of order - One-year warranty on labor and materials - Installation supports upgraded radio systems, license plate readers, and BAS replacement - Underground installation with safety containment systems - All work to be performed at a federal medical center campus - Classification: - NAICS 238210 (Electrical Contractors and Wiring Installation) - PSC H960 (Fiber Optics Materials, Components, Assemblies, Accessories)

Purpose: The purpose of this RFI is to identify potential sources which will aid in defining the procurement strategy, for example, set-aside, sole source, or unrestricted for a solicitation the VA intends on issuing shortly as follows:
The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) located in Houston; Texas has a requirement for Fiber Optic Cable Supply Purchase and Installation Services; items listed as attached.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard for the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238210 - Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors with a size standard of $19.0 million. Product Supply Code (PSC) H960 Other Qc/test/inspect- Fiber Optics Materials, Components, Assemblies, and Accessories.
The anticipated type of contract shall be a Single Award, Firm Fixed Price. The Government wishes to enter into a contract with a base period for all supplies and services to be concluded within 60day ARO.
