Cherry Hill Township, NJ is procuring professional legal services for the role of Rent Control Attorney. - Government Buyer: - Township of Cherry Hill, Purchasing Department - Contact: Patti Chacker, Township Clerk - Scope of Services: - Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to the Rent Review Board - Attend all Board meetings and work sessions - Conduct legal research and issue legal opinions - Interpret the Rent Control Ordinance and support Township staff - Represent the Board and Township in litigation related to rent control matters - Assist with other legal matters as authorized by the Township’s Legal Department - Requirements: - Must be a licensed attorney in New Jersey with at least 5 years of relevant municipal experience - Must maintain an office in New Jersey - Experience with rent control, zoning, or planning boards preferred - Compliance with Cherry Hill’s Pay-to-Play and transparency ordinances, including business entity disclosure - No OEMs or product vendors are involved, as this is a professional legal services contract - Period of Performance: - One-year contract commencing from the date of award, with possible renewal or extension - Place of Performance: - Township of Cherry Hill, Camden County, New Jersey
Description
Cherry Hill Township is seeking to appoint an attorney to provide legal advice and support to the Township's Rent Review Board. Responsibilities include attending all Board meetings and work sessions, conducting legal research, providing legal opinions, interpreting the Rent Control Ordinance, supporting staff, representing the Board in litigation, and assisting as authorized by the Township's Legal Department. Qualified applicants should have experience with municipal representation or local boards, especially in quasi-judicial administrative hearings, rent control, zoning, or planning boards. Familiarity with Cherry Hill's Rent Control Ordinance is preferred. Proposals may be submitted by individuals or law firms.
