YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, Texas is seeking competitive proposals for comprehensive exterior and interior painting and power washing services across its network of elementary and secondary campuses, as well as its home office. - Government Buyer: - YES Prep Public Schools (Director of Procurement: Mehmet Bayar; Director of Facilities) - OEM Requirement: - Sherwin Williams is the only approved paint manufacturer for all painting work - Scope of Work: - Interior and exterior painting at over 20 school campuses and the home office - Surfaces include walls, ceilings, doors, handrails, fences, and more - Sheetrock patching and surface preparation required - Power washing of sidewalks and building exteriors - All labor, supervision, tools, and equipment must be provided by the contractor - Project Management & Compliance: - Up to three contractors may be awarded - Strict project timeline: work must be completed within approximately two months during the summer, with no schedule exceptions - After-hours and weekend work required for certain campuses (e.g., Southside Elementary and Secondary) - All workers must pass a name-based background check suitable for a school environment - Contractors must provide a single point of contact, maintain clear communication, and adhere to safety/site protocols (including dust mitigation and protection of emergency devices) - Paint can only be stored onsite while crews are present; equipment must be secured when not in use - Minimum one-year parts and labor warranty required - Proposal Requirements: - Itemized pricing for each campus and service - Project management plan and references - Compliance with prevailing wage laws and all necessary permits - Subject to approval by the YES Prep Board of Directors
