Description
The FAA proposes a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11 airplanes due to multiple in-service failures of pressure regulating shutoff valves (PRSOVs). The AD would require revising the airplane flight manual to include engine shutdown procedures when the BLEED LEAK caution message persists, prohibit operation in certain icing conditions under specific MEL provisions, and mandate replacement of affected PRSOVs with improved versions. This action aims to address the unsafe condition that could lead to damage to surrounding structures and systems, increasing pilot workload or resulting in loss of safe flight and landing.
