The University of Alberta is seeking qualified firms to provide hazardous waste disposal services for its Department of Health, Safety and Environment. - Scope of Work: - Safe pick-up, shipment, and disposal of various hazardous wastes: - Chemical waste (solid and liquid): 60-70 drums per month - Solvent waste: 3-4 shipments per year (~20,000 L per shipment) - Neutralized aqueous waste: 3-4 shipments per year (~14,000 L per shipment) - Biohazardous waste: weekly shipments (~2,000 kg per month) - Radioactive waste: as needed - High-risk chemical waste: as needed - Services required at multiple University of Alberta campuses and the Cloverbar Hazardous Waste Management Facility - Project Structure: - Four scopes: Chemical, Biohazardous, Radioactive, and High-Risk Chemical waste management - Proposals may address any single scope or combination; multiple contracts may be awarded - Compliance: - All services must comply with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Legislation and applicable laws - Estimated annual expenditure: $375,000 CAD - Contract duration: Three years with options to renew for two additional three-year periods

The University of Alberta is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide hazardous waste disposal services for its Department of Health, Safety and Environment. The contract involves safe pick-up, shipment, and disposal of various waste types including solvent, aqueous, biohazardous, radioactive, and high-risk chemical wastes from multiple campus locations. The project is divided into four scopes: Chemical, Biohazardous, Radioactive, and High-Risk Chemical waste management. The contract duration is three years with options to renew for two additional three-year periods, starting July 1, 2026.
