This opportunity involves the Grand Strand Water & Sewer Authority (GSWSA) seeking a qualified contractor for the construction and installation of the Hwy 905 Sewer Developer Extension 1 & 2 projects in Horry County, SC, and Columbus County, NC. - Government Buyer: - Grand Strand Water & Sewer Authority (GSWSA), Planning / Engineering Division - Project Scope: - Installation of approximately 21,800 linear feet (LF) of 16-inch sewer force main and appurtenances in Simpson Creek Township, Horry County, SC (Extension 1) - Installation of approximately 8,130 LF of 16-inch sewer force main and appurtenances in Bug Hill Township, Columbus County, NC (Extension 2) - Total project includes up to 31,200 LF of 16-inch PVC force main sewer line - Work includes trenching, backfilling, directional boring (with HDPE pipe), jack and bore with steel casing, installation of valves, fittings, air release valves, pumper connections, and restoration of roads and property - Erosion control measures, utility coordination, and compliance with storm water pollution prevention plans are required - Products & Materials: - 16" and 12" C900 DR25 and DR18 PVC pipes (green) - 18" SDR17 HDPE pipe for directional bores - 30" steel casing for jack and bore installations - Mechanical joint (MJ) plug valves, reducers, bends, sleeves, tees, bell restraints - Air release valve assemblies, pumper connection assemblies, valve boxes, and collars - Silt fence, sediment tubes, and other erosion control devices - Notable Requirements: - Single contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and permits - Strict adherence to GSWSA specifications and inspection standards - Compliance with SCDOT and NCDOT encroachment permits - Restoration of all disturbed areas, including roads and private property - Provision of as-built drawings by a licensed surveyor - 5% bid bond, 100% performance and payment bonds required - Liquidated damages of $200 per day for late completion - OEMs & Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; solicitation is open to all qualified contractors - Place of Performance: - Conway Township, Horry County, SC; Bug Hill Township, Columbus County, NC; and adjacent areas along Highway 905 - Timeline: - Extension 2 must be completed and in service by October 31, 2026 - Extension 1 must be completed and in service by April 1, 2027 - Work must commence within 10 days of Notice to Proceed; 270 consecutive calendar days for completion
