USDA FSIS intends to sole source preventative maintenance for STERIS laboratory equipment.

This opportunity involves the USDA FSIS seeking a sole source contract for preventative maintenance of STERIS laboratory equipment at three federal laboratories. - Sole source, firm-fixed-price contract to STERIS Corporation - Annual preventative maintenance and inspections for STERIS-manufactured equipment - Includes AMSCO Century and Lab Series Steam Sterilizers (without integral generator) - All other steam and electric sterilizers - Stand-alone generators - Low temperature sterilizers (VHP M100, VHP LTS-V, VHP Victory, M10, 1000 ED S and AB, M1000S T4, MD140X, 100i, 1000i, LS60) - Reliance Laboratory Washers, Basil 3500, 9500, and 4000 Series Washers, and all other washers - Only STERIS factory-trained personnel are authorized to perform maintenance - STERIS is the sole factory-authorized supplier for AMSCO, Finn-Aqua, Reliance, Basil, and HAMO brands - Period of performance: 12-month base year plus four 12-month option years - Place of performance: FSIS Eastern Laboratory (Athens, GA), FSIS Midwestern Laboratory (Normandy, MO), FSIS Western Laboratory (Albany, CA)

Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), intends to award a firm-fixed-price, sole source service contract to STERIS Corporation 5960 Heisley Rd Mentor, Ohio 44060. This contract will consist of a 12-month base year and four (4) 12-month option years.

The Government requires annual preventative maintenance (PM) and inspections for STERIS-manufactured laboratory equipment across three FSIS laboratory locations. The required service schedule includes: 

AMSCO Century and Lab Series Steam Sterilizers (without integral generator) All other Steam and Electric Sterilizers Stand-Alone Generators Low Temperature Sterilizers (VHP M100 and VHP LTS-V) Low Temperature Sterilizers (VHP Victory, M10, 1000 ED S and AB, M1000S T4, MD140X, 100i, 1000i, and LS60) Reliance Laboratory Washers Basil 3500, 9500, and 4000 Series Washers All other Washers

In accordance with FAR 12.102 (Restricting Competition), the Government has determined that only one source is reasonably available to satisfy these requirements based on the follow:

STERIS Corporation is the sole factory-authorized supplier of parts and service for the brands AMSCO, Finn-Aqua, Reliance, Basil, and HAMO. STERIS does not utilize distributors. All replacement parts are manufactured to OEM specifications and sold directly to the end user to ensure equipment integrity. Maintenance must be performed by factory-trained personnel to maintain compliance with OEM specifications. STERIS maintains a proprietary workforce of over 950 such specialists.
