Description

The project aims to establish and leverage a new paradigm to optically measure and track synaptic weights in the brains of awake animals as they learn and store information. It involves developing a system combining optogenetic photostimulation and a genetically encoded voltage indicator for subthreshold voltage imaging to map and monitor synaptic weights across thousands of candidate synaptic connections in the visual cortex during learning and deprivation-induced plasticity.
